Firearms was the primary offence type in 1,200 cases sentenced in the District of Puerto Rico between FY2018 and FY2025 (16% of the district's cases), with 101 in FY2025.

The median prison term was 33 months (2 yr 9 mo), shorter than the national median for firearms offences (41 months) and close to the First Circuit median (33). Half of prison terms fell between 24 and 48 months; 96% of cases carried a prison term.
